Essential Fatty Acids

LAFoods that contain safflower, sunflower, corn and soya bean oils.
ALAFlax seeds oil, walnut oil, soya bean oil and canola oil.
DHAFortified foods.
Vitamin ASpinach and carrot purees, mashed papaya and milk are a good source of Vitamin A.
Vitamin B6Beans, legumes, whole grain and fortified cereals.
Vitamin EGreen leafy vegetables, vegetable oils and  whole grains.
ZincBeans, whole-grains and brown rice.
SeleniumPlant food such as vegetables (which are grown in selenium rich soil) can be given in a puree form.
CopperPulses like soya bean, peas, rajma etc. and dark green leafy vegetables can be given in puree form.
IodineIodized salt.
CalciumMilk and milk products, green leafy vegetables, beans like rajma.
Vitamin DInfants may not get enough vitamin D through their diet. Fortified milk is excellent source of vitamin D. It is important that you provide your baby enough sunlight during morning hours, so as to have appropriate absorption of vitamin D and calcium.
CarbohydratesCereals like rice, wheat and vegetables like potato.
ProteinsMilk, pulses, paneer, cheese etc. are good sources of proteins.
FatsAll vegetable oils, butter and ghee are its good and healthy sources.
Vitamins B1, B2, B12, Niacin, Folic AcidPuree made up of vegetables and fruits like spinach, peas, tomato, apple; pulses etc.
CholineMashed oranges, orange juice, boiled and mashed potatoes and whole wheat products made with milk.
