Guide to Choose the Right Book for Your Sitter or Crawler Baby

Board Books

At this age, your baby can grab books by crawling and able to turn the pages with someone’’’’s help. You can select thick board books with bright colours and simple pictures for your baby.

Textured Books

Now your baby and touch and feel different textures (crinkly, soft, scratchy). Hence, fold-out books, vinyl or cloth books with bright colours can catch the attention of your baby.

High-Contrast Picture Books

Create handmade books with cut-outs of bright coloured patterns from magazines. Have themes such as ‘all square’, ‘all circle’ or ‘all green’ books to introduce your baby to shapes and colours.

Books with mirrors/reflecting paper

Babies love seeing themselves in the mirror. Have couple of books which has reflecting paper/mirror for baby to pip in.

Make sure the books you select do not have too many pages as babies at this stage have short attention span.

So, go ahead, read to your child and build a habit that lasts a lifetime!
