Here are some tips for keeping your baby happy when you visit the doctor.
Scheduling: Try to schedule the appointment when your baby is normally awake and not fussy.
Feed her: Make sure your baby is fed before you go. Bring along an extra bottle of expressed breast milk, just in case. Or decide how comfortable you’ll be breastfeeding in the waiting room.
Pack carefully: If you decide to bring along expressed breast milk, it will keep for 24 hours in an insulated container if the temperature remains between 5 to 39° F. Keep ice packs in contact with milk containers at all times and limit opening the container
Recreation: Bring along a few familiar items your baby enjoys.
Prepare early: Have your questions for the doctor ready, so you can get in and out quickly.
Keep your calm: Remember, the calmer you are, the calmer your baby will be.
As a mother you know what is best for your baby. And your doctor is equipped to help and guide you through the process. Be sure to ask every question you have. This will ensure you make the most of every visit while maintaining your baby’s health and happiness
