It takes a lot of understanding, apart from love and care, to provide your baby the time of her life. Some suggestions that might help you in your effort are:

Be attentive to your baby’s need. Keeping your baby happy is not just limited to looking for material things like toys and other stuff that attract her attention and keep her busy. These instruments are undoubtedly important but the vital part in keeping your baby happy is that you are attentive to her needs, physical, psychological and material, as well as spend as much time with her as you can.

Keep your baby comfortable. Babies are happy when they are comfortable. Make sure her bed is comfortable enough to sleep in. The diaper should beclean and dry. Keep her comfortable during the change in weather. Maintain proper hygiene so that discomfort due to infections can be avoided.

Spend enough time with the baby. Whether you are just sitting and watching her, or you are playing with her, your baby loves your presence. Moreover, she loves it and becomes more confident when you listen and appreciate her. Take time to hang out with your baby, play with her and talk to her often, so that she learns how it feels to have someone to depend on.

Talk to your baby. Talking to your baby also helps in improving her cognitive and linguistic skills. Respond to them actively. Talk to your baby about what you are doing while you carry out your daily chores. This helps her create a connection between the words and the actions.

Give your baby some space. It is important for a baby’s motor development to let her be on the mat or on the floor. Let your baby move around freely so that she can exercise her legs, back and arms. Just make sure to baby-proof your home. Moreover, this way she is able to explore her surroundings and learn more.

Keep your eyes and ears open to the distress signals. You must pay close attention to what your baby needs to express. Whether it is delight or discomfort, you need to respond accordingly. They are entirely dependent on adults around them. Crying is the only way they can tell you about their discomfort.

Take it easy. Do not pressurize yourself with too much of do’s and don’ts. Your baby can actually feel that you are under pressure. Being perfect at it is not the key. It is a learning process for both you and your baby. Keeping your baby happy does not depend on your perfection, but on the relationship you have with your baby.

Parenting is a work in progress. Just have fun with it and enjoy the moments you spend with her. That should be enough for the baby to feel loved, nurtured and definitely, happy.
