A massage can relieve many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy , such as backaches , leg pains, etc. In addition, massage can also help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.

Studies have found that pregnant women who have received underwent massage therapy experienced considerably less labour pain than one who has not received the therapy. Therefore, a massage can be good for you if done by a qualified practitioner.

Before opting for a massage during pregnancy, consider talking with your doctor first and remember…always consult a qualified massage therapist.

Tips that can help you have a relaxing experience are:

Place a warm towel on an area of the body that you are about to massage. This can be a relaxing experience as it helps loosen tight muscles and helps relieve tension.
While massaging, use an oil or lotion. This can help hands move across the skin more smoothly.
During contractions, you can gently massage your belly by rubbing it. You can even ask your partner to give you a massage as this will help to stimulate your body to release natural chemicals that help in relieving pain.
