Choose a restaurant where you get variety of healthier foods like salads, vegetarian dishes, and lean protein.
Try to avoid fast food places .If you are short of time for table-service meal then you can opt for sandwich shops. You can also check menus online before going out.
Suitable Drink
Restrict eating out frequently. According to studies, eating out twice a week may increase risk of obesity and diabetes.
Instead of soda, milkshakes and fruit drinks encourage your child to have low fat milk, lassi or buttermilk. You can encourage your kid to choose tender coconut as a drink.
Addition of lemon, lime, cucumber or watermelon or sparkling water can make a great drink for your kid.
Avoid giving them ready to drink fruit juices, as they lack fibre and are high in calories due to high sugar content.
Menu to be Ordered
Try to choose baked, grilled, steamed or poached foods over fried foods.
Ask the restaurant to customise the child’s favourite dish such as, customise your child’s pizza with less cheese and more of his favourite vegetable toppings.
Don’t force your child to finish all that is on his plate. Restaurants usually have huge servings.
Teach your child to choose from the menu which will help him or her in future while eating out with others.

Educate your kid about nutritional values of healthy food items. Make your child understand that eating healthy food will help him or her become stronger, faster, do better in each and every activity.
