Here are 10 Great Tips to Help you deal With your Little Picky Eater:

1. Introduce only one new food at a time . If your baby doesn’t eat it, try and mix it with a food he or she likes.

2. Give new foods at the beginning of the meal when your child is most hungry.

3. If your child doesn’t eat the new food the first time, try again later . You may have to try for a couple of days or weeks to finally make your baby accept the foods.

4. Stick to your baby’s regular eating schedule. This way your child will learn that he or she has to eat the food that is served at a particular time.

5. Offer healthy and colourful finger foods to your baby since at this age babies like to pick up things with their fingers.

Be a good role model and influence your baby to make healthy food choices. Eat the food your baby dislikes in front of him or her. Describe the taste, texture and smell of the food.

6. Avoid keeping unhealthy foods like candies, chocolates, chips, etc. at home. Don’t offer these junk foods to your child as a reward. The taste of such foods may make your baby dislike other healthy foods.

7. Allow your baby to have meals together with the family. Your baby will observe siblings and other family members eating
healthy food and try to eat it too.

8. Serve the appropriate portions for your baby. When giving new foods, a few tablespoons are enough at the start.
Don’t force the baby to eat more if he or she refuses.

9. Avoid distractions like television or other entertainment gadgets while feeding your picky eater.

10. Interact with your baby and encourage him or her to eat healthy foods. Eat them yourself and make noises like “yummy” when feeding your baby.

11. Don’t get disheartened if your baby does not like a particular food. Remember, every food has a substitute.

12. Don’t give up your efforts of feeding your baby healthy foods. Try different cooking method for the rejected food.

Very soon you will see your tiny tot eating the right foods!
